Just so you know, there is something wrong with you. You are not like me or most Americans that I know. Eh, is not the reaction that comes to mind when I read this.
i have to agree. 'eh' would imply a blase attitude towards the misfortune of others. myself, i see this as a reminder that my life is good and could be a hell of a lot worse. the compassion i have in my life does not come from taking these things for granted... surviving personal tragedies and life's misfortunes and carrying on gives you a different perspective...
