Cultivation for the Bedouin I live with is mostly rain fed barley, food for livestock, though it hasn't rained enough for it much in a few years. Food for people however is from irrigated vegetable fields, its pretty amazing to see patches of desert lush and green with fruit and vegetables.

That's the place. There's about 200 square kilometres of it, that one is the most famous but it isn’t even the most impressive one.

Not sure what the people there cultivate and eat, but these places look beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

Interesting note: Camels can drink a huge range of water from almost sea saltiness to putrefied water and their liver, and the rest of their body, can take it. For some Bedouin in the old days the only thing they ever drank was camel milk as they used the camels as a kind of filtering system to make water that would kill humans safe to drink in the form of milk (which they continually tell me has Viagra like qualities).
