    thanks CM. i kinda zoned out there for a minute thinking what it looks like when you're standing on the bridge. weather like that is miserable, but not uncommon. you just hang on and try to keep it pointed in the right direction...

    How are the containers attached? I don't see chains or straps. Do they bolt together or something?

      there's fittings one deck at all four corners of each container, that 'twist locks' fit into, securing them individually to the ship. the bottom tier going from side to side (thwartships), have lashing rods secured to deck with turnbuckles. as the containers are stacked on each other, they have only twist locks in all four corners. it's hard to see but they really do work. sometimes it even surprizes me that they do...
