as many of us know, the insides of a golf ball are rubber bands wrapped around a smaller rubber ball filled with some really stinky liquid. they made great stink bombs when you set it on fire (i had an interesting childhood). to see one flattened like this, it must of been shot out of a cannon at a super high velocity...

I thought I was the only one who peeled the 'skin' off a ball to get to the mile of elastic inside. I thought the rubber ball was solid nowadays. Guess what iu'm doing tomorrow!!!?

That really stinky liquid is Live Rubber. You should have clapped one in your dads vice and cut it half with a hacksaw! When you hit that live rubber core it sprays out under high pressure ruined the ceilind in my dads shop and got my ass beat dor that little stunt! But it was COOL!

A dude at a driving range sliced a ball into my left temple. No blood, fractured cheek and a concussion. I was just setting my first ball on the tee when he proved that he was no Chi Chi Rodriguez with a golf club. I could have sworn I felt the ball doing this to my head.

I have to call shenanigans. Years ago my buddies adapted their spud guns to take LP gas. Then they reduced the bore to golf ball size. Those things were scary! they would go thru 5/8 plywood at about 20 ft. @ about 50 ft they would bounce off a train car at frightening velocity. @ about the same distance shot into a huge cement block next to the tracks the golf ball would just disintegrate. I dont know if they changed the insides of a golf ball nowadays, maybe their made differently.

Those are called Caymen balls, They are solid and react the same when struck with a club but fly a much shorter distance.Traditional balls are wound as stated above.
