Kangaroo or emu blood was mixed with the red ochre so it absorbed deep into the rocks.

A history buff that's not impressed. Just what did you expect these old Myall's to be painting 17,000 years ago? I was born in Pitta Pitta country and spent the majority of my young life in Kalkadoon country and can tell you this is exactly what they were painting. I have also climbed around various parts of the Selwyn ranges looking at rock art exactly like this. Why don't you take a look on this site and buff up your history. http://www.cherneesutton.com.au/kalkadoon-history.html

The Kalkadoon information and images should be placed in the Aboriginal rock art map site at http://www.thisisart.com.au Who would like help me consolidate the pictures and ensure that the information is correct? Rob Curator This is Art

It looks like something 1st graders do with finger paint. I consider myself a history buff and I'm not impressed at all here. But I do like the way they exploit honey pot ants as a resource.
